or Any 3-Piece Design E-cigarette
It is very important to properly maintain your e-cigarette so it will give you the best performance and last longer. There are 4 parts of the e-cig that need to be cleaned and maintained - the battery, the atomizer, the refillable cartridges, and the charger. These parts should be cleaned periodically depending on how often you use the e-cig. Once a week is a good habit for any type of user.
The battery is a rechargeable, lithium battery that needs to be cleaned. Take a cotton swab
dipped in rubbing alcohol (not soaking) and clean the contact where you screw in the atomizer. This area gets a build up of dirt and nicotine residue. Make sure it is dry before using it again.
To preserve the charging capacity of your electronic cigarette battery, it is best to use the electronic cigarette until the battery is fully discharged. This will lengthen the number of charges your e-cig battery will take. If cleaned and charged properly the battery will last for about 300 charges.
Use the same cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean all parts of the atomizer, especially the threaded end that makes contact with the battery. Now take a tissue and hold it to the threaded end while blowing into the cone shaped, wire mesh end. You should see some tan colored liquid on the tissue. This is the e-liquid or nicotine residue that is not vaporized. You may get some e-liquid on your lips or in your mouth and it will taste bad but it will not hurt you. For a final cleaning, connect the atomizer to the battery (but do not attach a cartridge) and blow into the end of the battery that lights up. This will activate the atomizer and burn off any additional residue. Do this for 3 short puffs. Depending on the amount of use, and if maintained properly, an atomizer will last up to 12 months.
Note: Some people will recommend soaking the atomizer in hot alcohol or vinegar. We do not recommend this since the atomizer is an electronic device.
The Veppo cartridges are refillable with E-liquid nicotine solution but if you choose to only purchase prefilled cartridges and throw them away when they are done, you do not have to clean them. If you are refilling the cartridges, then use an alcohol pad or cotton dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the outside of the cartridge. This is mainly for sanitary reasons. The cartridges can be refilled 15 - 20 times, but eventually the white fiber material inside will wear out and not hold as much e-liquid. When this happens throw it away and use a new one.
Use the same cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the contact where you screw in the battery. The life expectancy of the charger depends on how many times it is being used and if it is cleaned regularly. If the light on the charger does not turn red, and only stays green, when a dead battery is attached, you may need a new charger.
Properly cleaning and maintaining all parts of your e-cig will assure a long life and optimum performance (of the e-cig, and maybe you too!). Video instructions for maintaining your e-cig are coming soon, watch our website and blog.
